We’re coming to the end of the month of July and we have two fabulous reasons to celebrate. The first is that I, your friendly neighborhood “Think & Grow Chick” will be turning 22 years old this Wednesday, July 28th. That’s right ya’ll, my birthday’s coming up! As if that weren’t enough excitement, this very blog has it’s first year anniversary come August! Woo-hoo, what a double whammy! To celebrate both occasions, I want a gift from my readers and I’m giving away a gift to my readers. Don’t get nervous about what I want though, the gift I’m asking for is very simple…
Although 22 is not as huge of a birthday that say, 21 was, I think 22 is a significant age because I feel like I’m getting into the swing of being a “grown up”. Part of being a successful grown up, at least to me, is accomplishing goals that you set out for yourself and living the life you have always dreamed of living. In other words, growing up really is just about realizing your full potential. While I think I’m well on my way, I am always inspired to hear stories from other women who are living the life the life they have always dreamed of…whatever that means to them. If you are such a “success”, then do me a huge birthday favor and send in your (1) photo, (2) your name and age, and (3) the answers to the questions below.
- What is so great about your life?
- What were your original goals when you set out to create your “dream” life?
- How long did it for your dream to become a reality?
- What are some of the steps you took in accomplishing your goals?
- What is your biggest advice for those still working towards their dreams?
I’ll be running features of you fabulous women for the entire month of August, so feel free to send your answers in until the end of August. All submissions are to be sent to Courtney [at] thinkandgrowchick [dot] com.
Now that I’ve thoroughly described the present I want from you all, let me tell you what I’m going to do for you. I am going to giveaway to one lucky reader a Jane Carter Solutions sample pack complete with the Wrap and Roll Setting Lotion, Nourish and Shine Pomade, and Revitalizing Leave-in Conditioner (each 2oz sized). All you have to do to be eligible for this giveaway is:
- Subscribe to the Think & Grow Chick Youtube Channel
- leave a comment on this post with:
- your Youtube username and…
- …one thing you love about thinkandgrowchick.com and…
- one thing you want to see on thinkandgrowchick for it’s second year
That’s it! Readers who follow the above guidelines will be entered into a drawing and selected at random via a random number generator. The winner will be notified via their Youtube inbox, so keep watch! The winner will be selected Monday, August 2, 2010.
Yay for birthdays!

# …one thing you love about thinkandgrowchick.com and… I love your site’s emphasis on financial responsibility. That’s something most young women (like myself) have a problem with. The tips are greatly appreciated.
# one thing you want to see on thinkandgrowchick for it’s second year. . . I would love to see some features on relationships. As we get older we long to settle down and make deep connections with others. Some looks at how to maintain a healthy relationship would be ideal.

I love the fact that its not just about hair. I learn a lot from this site and I’m looking forward to learning more.
I’d like to see some creative protective styles (esp updos) as well as more on financial responsibility on thinkandgrowchick for it’s second year.

I love your focus on personal finance, especially from the perspective of a young black female.
I would like to see more hair tutorials, and maybe feature success stories of other young ladies taking charge of their finances .

Hey Think and Grow Chick!! I really love your focus on personal finances. It’s outstanding that you’re being proactive about learning how to manage your money. I’m a bit older than you and I’m still learning about personal finances. Your enthusiasm and commitment to grow is inspiring! Thank you. And, I love your hair! I’m all about the protective styles too!
I would love to see more posts about what you’re learning about personal finances, hair tutorials, and books you’re reading!
And, Happy Birthday to you! Enjoy your day!!
